Tokyo Skytree, now the tallest tower in Japan, opened last May 22. I've been waiting for it to open since last year. However, from the opening date until July 10, tickets are sold via online. Day tickets will be sold from July 11 onwards. I was only aware of it after we went there last week.
This is the hottest thing in Japan right now.
tries to kiss the sky
a tower of harmony
Japan's crystal gem
With a height of 634 m it would be definitely a good spot to see the entire Tokyo. I can't wait for my time to visit, and actually be in it. You got to admire Japan's technology and creativity.
Some interesting facts about Skytree
TOKYO SKYTREE is designed in an original color, "SKYTREE White", representing harmony with the surrounding scenery, its name and the design concept: "The creation of city scenery transcending time: A fusion of traditional Japanese beauty and neo-futuristic design". Dressed in "SKYTREE white", the new tower will stand tall against the blue sky in downtown Tokyo and transcend time with eternal brightness. more here
After remembering that the skytree is now opened for public, I thought of my high school friends who are in Japan and asked them if they are willing to have a mini-reunion. It was an A-HA moment and got positive replies from all of them. It was difficult to schedule a meet-up with them since all of us are coming from different prefectures but we finally made it last week. It was a 2-day of great moments. We were l6-year olds again.
As mentioned above, we didn't have the chance to go up and touch the sky but we will in the future. And why do I already plan to go to the Sky Tree when I haven't been to the Tokyo Tower yet?
