The sakura exhibition is finally over. Its petals, drizzling in the city, were the confetti. Mother Earth knows how to put up a show, a seasoned conductor. For the past two weeks, pink canopies covered the city to the delight of tourists and locals. Their arrival was earlier than what was forecasted but the audience did not mind at all.

Thinking that this weekend would be sakura's last performance after an extended run, we went to the nearest park in Chiba, took the front seats and witness its farewell show. The wind, the rain signaled that everything's ending on a high note.
It was a cold ending though.

ReplyDeleteIt's cherry blossom time in April around the world (but not in Houston, we are too warm a climate). I love the way the come out in Washington, D.C. and in London.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 50's we had this song, the music was played on a trumpet:
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
When your true lover comes your way
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
The poets say
The story goes that once a cherry tree
Beside an apple tree did grow
And there a boy once met his bride to be
Long long ago
The boy looked into her eyes,
it was a sight to enthrall
The breezes joined in their sighs,
the blossoms started to fall
And as they gently carressed,
the lovers looked up to find
The branches of the two trees were intertwined
And that is why the poets always write
If there's a new moon bright above
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
When you're in love
..
lovely song Jim. basing from the lyrics :-)

DeleteI really envy your photography skills. Or perhaps I shouldn't be envious but rather be inspired by your work. I hope I can be as great as you in terms of taking photos. I am just a neophyte when it comes to photography and I want to learn more of/from it.
ReplyDeleteoh, don't be. :-) just keep on shooting. you'll learn a lot.
