I went to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in 2015 for a 2-day business meeting. During my spare time, I was able to explore some of its gems such as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I thought then that I should come back for a visit as the country has lots to offer. Little did I know that I will be starting a new life here two years later. Yes, I was recently hired by an engineering company in Abu Dhabi after being jobless for 10 months. I have been here for only two weeks but so far so good.

I haven't been to any tourist attraction yet since I am busy looking for my accommodation. This post is a way of sharing some good news on my part. I think this new adventure will be totally different from the one I had in Japan, but I am ready to embrace whatever comes my way. Once I was I able to adjust, I will be posting a lot.

DeleteWonderful! Excellent news! Your posts, during that 10 month jobless stretch, revealed a positive attitude, that I thought spoke volumes about the kind of upbeat person you are and how you approach tough times. Your haiku was perfect ... brilliant, really. All the best to you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, Wendy. Just enjoying my time of unemployment back then
DeleteBest of luck in this new venture, may it be like that cold drink in a hot day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Magaly
DeleteGood luck to you. Keeping a journal through the haibun form was first done by Basho, I’ve heard. I think your thoughts while in such an exotic locale would also lend themselves to the form.
ReplyDeleteI will have that mind as inspiration, Sarah
